(Kennewick, WA) -- One man is in Kennewick Police custody after prowling through vehicles in the parking lot of Kamiakin Highs School. The school's Resource Officer advised Patrol Officers over the radio he was watching a male on camera enter vehicles in the northeast parking lot.

Police quickly converged on the area and found the suspect literally in a vehicle that was not his. They determined he entered at least two belonging to students at KaHS. Items from those vehicles were recovered and returned to the victims. The suspect was then arrested for two counts of vehicle prowling.

Authorities stress that the man was looking for unlocked vehicles, specifically. It is recommended that you locked your car doors and keep valuables out of plain sight.
