RICHLAND, Wash.-- Monday, May 18, is the final day for any candidate who filed to run for state or local office in Washington to remove their name from the list of candidates.

By the time that the filing period closed on Friday evening, 37 people had filed to run for Governor, including long-time Richland resident Lisa Thomas.

But by Monday morning, Thomas, who lost a race for a seat on the Richland City Council in November 2019, had pulled her name from the list.

Three Tri-Cities residents' names remain on the list of candidates who plan to run in the August primary, including Brian R. Weed from West Richland, Bill Murray from Kennewick, and Ian Gonzales, also from Kennewick.

No Tri-Cities residents have filed to run for the Lt. Governor seat.
