The Pasco Police Department unveiled their Pasco Cares program with the Pasco Police Foundation Thursday afternoon at an informal gathering to meet Chief Ken Roske.

Pasco Police Foundation President Kellee Balcom discussed the goals of the newly formed group.

Balcom said, "The organization supports the Pasco Police officers, as it's their job to keep us safe and protect us.  An aspect that frequently falls between the cracks is their ability to truly care for people.  We have a great community that supports a whole host of different needs.  Occasionally there are times when police officers need a little extra help to provide support for a family that is in crisis.  Or, to provide support for a situation where a person is in a dire situation and cannot get to a safe place.  As a foundation, this can help officers make decisions that will be able to help people in a time of need."

Balcom added that the Pasco Police Foundation is seeking community support, looking for people willing to serve on the board, and welcome monetary gifts.
