Fire damaged a home in Pasco Saturday evening.

Fire crews were called out to the 1700 block of W. Octave St. just before 7 p.m., for a report of a fire along the back of a home.

Pasco Police were first on the scene and reported that flames were visible from the back of the house.

Pasco Fire Department spokesperson Ben Shearer said three adults and a parrot were in the home when the residents noticed the flames and evacuated.

The homeowner reported that the blaze seemed to have originated in a lighting fixture on the back side of the home.

Crews had to cut into the cedar shake roof of the house to ensure that no fire had extended into the attic.

The residents have family nearby that they can stay with, since they won't be able to stay in the home until repairs can be made.

No one was hurt, and officials are still working to confirm the cause of the fire.
