(Washington, D.C.) -- Two Oregon Senators are leading an effort to ask President Joe Biden to rescind Medals of Honor from 20 soldiers who were involved in the Wounded Knee Massacre in 1890. Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden are asking the president to use his executive authority to rescind the nation's highest military honor from those soldiers.


The slaughter occured at the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, where hundreds of unarmed men, women, and children were killed.
