Miss Tri-Cities 2016, Taylor Plunkett will share some of her experiences this weekend at an open house for the Miss Tri-Cities Scholarship Program.

Plunkett, and Miss Tri-Cities Outstanding Teen, Abby Faulk, were crowned last July. Along with the crown, the ladies each received college scholarships. More than $33,000 in scholarships were awarded to contestants in 2016.

Organizers are looking for contestants to compete in the 2017 contest.

For the Miss Tri-Cities program, contestants must be between 17 and 24 years of age and a graduate of high school prior to the 2018 state pageant. Applicants can be no older than 24 years of age as of December 31, 2018.

For the Outstanding Teen, contestants must be no younger than 13, and no older than 17 before July 31, 2018.

Contestant guidelines include never being married, ability to adopt a platform/cause, and meet residency, character, and other requirements as set forth by the Miss American Organization and Miss America Outstanding Teen Organization. Each contestant must also have a musical, dramatic, or dance talent.

The organization hosts an open house to provide more information about the program and answer questions for contestants. The open house is Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 1-3 p.m. at the Benton PUD Auditorium, 2721 10th Avenue, Kennewick.
