Dive Rescue crews have recovered a body from the Walla Ralla River in Walla Walla County.

According to the Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office, a kayaker reported finding the body Wednesday morning just after 8:00am.

Deputies and Detectives with the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area near Madame Dorian Memorial Park, along with Columbia Dive Rescue Team and Walla Walla Fire District 5. 

Searchers discovered the body of a male at the mouth of the Walla Walla River near Wallula Junction. 

The remains were turned over to the Walla Walla County Coroner’s Office.

The Coroners office and Detectives from the Walla Walla Sheriff’s Office are investigating the cause of death and are working to identify the man.
