A food processing plant in Wallula will be back up and running Wednesday following a fire that broke out Tuesday morning.

Tyson Foods officials say about 700 employees in processing, as well as, rendering, hides, maintenance and material handling, will be back to work. The 270 employees who work in the harvest division will be off.

The facility was not operating at the time of the blaze around 4 a.m. and there were no injuries, other than one person treated for smoke inhalation.

The company released a statement saying that they are investigating the cause of the fire. Workers were asked not to come to work Tuesday. A company spokesperson says the only part of the plant to be damaged was the by-product rendering area.
