TRI-CITIES, Wash.--The West Richland police department is asking motorists to exercise caution out on the roadways this Friday. They say we've been warm and dry for an extended period of time, which means the first rain can be very dangerous. During the long stretch of heat and no rain, the oils build up on the streets. When the clouds finally let loose, it can cause extra slick roadways until it has enough to rinse the oils away. It's recommended that you treat it just like you would in icy conditions; slow down and leave extra space.
