KENNEWICK, Wash. - The Kennewick City Council denied a request Tuesday night for high density land use on Thompson Hill.

The developer had requested permission to build a hotel, a restaurant and some condominiums along the top and south slope.

About 280 surrounding neighbors, the city staff, all 6 planning commission members and 5 city council members voted to deny the proposal because of potential harm to the Southridge area and the eight neighborhoods surrounding Thompson Hill.
