(Kennewick, WA) -- Kennewick Police say two are under arrest after a SWAT standoff at an apartment complex that lasted several hours. Authorities report that just before midnight Sunday, officers were called out to the Kamiakin Apartments off Metaline Ave near North Arthur Street. Police responded to a 9-1-1 call of a man kicking and banging on their door. Upon arrival officers heard sounds consistent with someone banging on a door as they walked toward the involved apartment. Officers observed a male suspect run back into his apartment, where he barricaded himself inside and refused to exit the apartment for several hours. Apparently, the suspect allegedly tried to stab a woman with a knife. Tri-City Regional SWAT was called, and ultimately entered the apartment, arresting the 30-year-old suspect for 2nd Degree Assault and another 28-year-old with an outstanding warrant.
