KENNEWICK, Wash.-- One person is in custody after a high speed chase that resulted in the recovery of a stolen car early Monday morning.

Kennewick Police say an officer spotted a white Acura sedan at W. 6th and S. Quincy St., and confirmed that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Benton County.

When the officer tried to conduct a traffic stop, the driver sped off, but stopped at W. 7th and S. Olympia where a female passenger got out before the car continued on.

Officers chased the Acura through the city at high speeds, before slowing down to a near crawl in the 6400 block of W. 1st Ave. That's when the suspect, identified as Isaiah Henning, 30, exited the car and complied with officer commands to get onto the ground, while the car continued forward until it crashed into a tree at low speeds.
