Shooting in Kennewick Sends One Woman to the Hospital

(Kennewick, WA) -- Kennewick Police is investigating a shooting that injured a 27-year-old woman. It happened Thursday night around 8:45 when residents in the 600 Block of North Tweedt Street began calling 9-1-1 to report a woman in the road. Officers arrived a short time later and found the victim who appeared to have been shot at least one time. Kennewick Fire also responded to the scene and immediately transported the victim to a local area hospital.
KPD detectives have been called to the scene and are investigating. This was not a random act and appears to possibly have stemmed from a domestic violence incident. The suspect is not in custody.
