Quincy educator earns Washington State Teacher of the Year award
Camille Jones of Pioneer Elementary School in Quincy has been named the Washington State Teacher of the Year.
Jones serves as a STEAM, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math, instructor and facilitated the school's first international collaborative project which involved over forty schools in seven countries.
Those who work with Jones say her approach is "inspiring," she facilitated Pioneer's first international collaborative project which involved 40 schools to create a "Big Friendly Monster" for display in each participating school. She also led a team "Destination Imagination," creative problem solving competition. Jones is now up for the National Teacher Award to be presented at the White House in the Spring.
