KENNEWICK, Wash.-- A man who was suspected of shoplifting at a Kennewick grocery store faces charges for allegedly assaulting a loss prevention employee.

Kennewick Police were called out to the Winco in Kennewick Thursday for a shoplifting complaint.

When employees confronted the suspect, the man allegedly punched an employee.

Officers arrested Jordan Valentine, 32, and discovered suspected Methamphetamine in his possession as they took him into custody.

Valentine had been arrested in Pasco on September 1st after he was found burglarizing a home in West Pasco.

Kennewick Police say the Winco employee who was assaulted had minor injuries.

Valentine was book in the Benton County Jail on suspicion of 2nd degree Robbery and Possession of Meth.
