PASCO, Wash. - Pasco Police arrested a man who allegedly tried to rob a home and then slashed a knife at the homeowner.

Police report that the homeowner says he came home from the laundromat to find a man he didn't know robbing his house. The victim says that the suspect slashed at him with a large knife and then ran off. The victim had non-life-threatening injuries to his hands consistent with defense wounds. Neighbor witnesses confirmed the story, and officers quickly found the suspect running on foot in the neighborhood. Three officers converged on him, and they were able to catch and arrest him.

The suspect was unarmed at that point, but did receive medical care prior to booking because they saw him eating what looked like drugs when he was arrested. A large knife consistent with the victim’s description was located in a nearby yard and was kept as evidence. The , once cleared for jail, was booked into Franklin County Jail on investigative holds for Robbery First Degree, Assault Second Degree, Burglary First Degree, and Theft Second Degree.
