(Bellevue, WA) -- It started as a spat over covid-19 vaccine verification at an Applebee's in Belleveue; it ended with one man facing charges.

58-year-old Michael Dousa is accused of pulling a meat cleaver on a bartender who asked him to leave for not providing proof of vaccination. The bartender was able to shut the door to the restaurant just before being hit by the cleaver.

Dousa has since been charged with felony assault. He's currently lodged in King County on $75,000 bail.
