Deputies: One dead, one hurt in shooting during WA home break-in

One man is dead and another was hospitalized after a report of a break in East Wenatchee Wednesday evening.

Douglas County Sheriff Harvey Gjesdal said deputies responded about 8:15 last night to a home where they found two men hurt, both suffering from gunshot and stab wounds.

“Both the males were transported to the hospital, at this point we know one of the males that was injured and wounded at the scene, did die last night during surgery, we are not releasing his name yet,” says Gjesdal.

Gjesdal says the incident is still under investigation but it appears the dead man was the intruder.

Three law enforcement agencies responded,  East Wenatchee Police, State Patrol and Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies.
