SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Officials say a 53-year-old Moses Lake man has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison for receiving child pornography.

The U.S. Justice Department said Wednesday that Daniel Vadnais was also sentenced to 20 years of court supervision after his prison sentence is served and that he will have to register as a sex offender.

Vadnais pleaded guilty in May to receipt of child pornography.

According to information disclosed in court, an undercover officer working for the FBI discovered Vadnais was using peer to peer file sharing to download child pornography.

FBI agents searched Vadnais' home in April 2016, where authorities say Vadnais told them he had been using the software to download child pornography files.

Authorities discovered his computer contained over 300 of the images.
