PASCO, Wash.- Pasco's city council awarded over 22 million dollars for the long -awaited construction of the Lewis Street overpass at their meeting Monday night.

"We have presented many times on many different issues related to his project. This project is long awaited and has been in the process for a couple of decades." says Public Works Director Steve Worley.

Mayor Saul Martinez expressed his gratitude for the work that's been put in, "I just wanted to thank the staff and all the people involved for working on this. I know it took the council before us and a lot of visits to Olympia to finally see it come to fruition, so I just want to thank everyone who had a big part in this and all the work they put into it."

The project is now ready to move forward into the construction phase
