(Stevenson, WA) -- Authorities have made an arrest in the case of 76-year-old Clayton Wick whose body was found by a housekeeper inside a home off 440 South Buchanan Street Tuesday. 44-year-old Christopher Calvert was taken into custody after a chase in rural Stevenson, Washington, about 1 hour east of Vancouver. Kennewick Police say Calvert had taken Wick's Honda SUV after the murder, and that's how police caught up to him. When confronted, Calvert took off in the stolen SUV, but deputies were able to force him into a ditch, where he got stuck. Police were able to arrest him for both first degree murder and auto theft. He's now in the Benton County Jail. Calvert was an acquaintance of Wick. The motive is not completely known at this time. Wick appears to have suffered from a violent assault and blunt force trauma. The cause of death will be determined by an autopsy.
