Fire spread through 15 acres Thursday morning in South Kennewick after firefighters believe the flames were started by a lawn mower blade hitting a rock.

Benton County Fire District #1 Chief Lonnie Click says they quickly called for mutual aid from Kennewick, Richland and Benton City to come out to the E. Game Farm Road fire.

"Doesn't take much to get it to go right now, an arc or a spark and it is off to the races, so the fuels are very receptive to get it going," says Click.

He adds no structures were damaged and no one was hurt in the fire.

The county continues to be under an extreme fire danger and a burn ban is in place.
