A Richland father left his apartment about 11 am. Tuesday morning, after assaulting his fiancee and child, then crashed his red Ford truck into another truck driving on Gage Blvd. and Leslie Rd. in front of Club 24.  An officer happened to be nearby and quickly responded to the collision, only to receive a call about a domestic disturbance and assault by a male driving a red truck. He figured the two incidents were related and detained the man in his twenties in the squad car, while Richland Officer Jimmy Buckley went to Orchard Hills Apartments to check on the alleged victim. He verified that the suspect was the same individual at the auto accident.

The girlfriend and her two year old child both sustained minor injuries from the suspect earlier.  Medics arrived, but she refused treatment, except for the child. She told the officers that her boyfriend took away the phone, preventing her from calling police during the incident. He was arrested for Domestic Violence Assault, two counts on the child and his fiancee, as well as other charges.

Richland Officer Jimmy Buckley added that the male victim hit in the white truck, was treated at the hospital.
