(Richland, WA) -- The body of a 50-year-old Kennewick reported missing on Thursday has been discovered. The Benton County Sheriff's Office says they were called to the Columbia Point Marina Friday afternoon after friends of Sandra Peterson had apparently discovered her remains in the water near the I-182 river crossing. Sheriff's officials say the friends had found the body in the water using a drone. Authorities called out dive teams to recover the body. Officials say there was no sign of foul play but there will be an autopsy performed. Peterson's next of kin has been notified. She apparently was suffering from a mental health crisis before disappearing from her home sometime late Wednesday off South Cascade. Her car was found later Thursday in Richland.
