KENNEWICK, Wash. — The Benton County Board of Commissioners chose former jail commander Tom Croskrey to replace acting Sheriff Jon Law at a special meeting Tuesday. Law was among the candidates being considered, along with former Deputy and Jail Captain John Hodge. The Board talked with all three, then headed executive session to discuss the candidates, which took less than 20 minutes.

Croskrey will take over his new role on October 4, and fill the position until after the next general election.
