RICHLAND, Wash.-- A Benton City woman has died several days after she was involved in a 2-vehicle crash on I-82.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash happened on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at about 8:45 p.m. near the Dallas Rd. exit.

Troopers say a Honda Accord driven by Jesus Cervantes-Melendez, 52, Kennewick, was disabled in the eastbound lanes, when a Lexus ES traveling eastbound on I-82 crashed into the Accord.

The driver of the Lexus, Renee Russell, 51, Kennewick, was not hurt. Two passengers in the car with her, Reba Howard, 95, Benton City, and Larry Russell, 50, Kennewick, were both taken to Kadlec with unknown injuries.

Howard passed away from her injuries Saturday morning.

The driver of the Accord will not face charges. WSP continues to investigate the crash.
