One man is dead following after a confrontation with Walla Walla Police.

Sergeant Kevin Braman says officers responded to a report of a suicidal person at about 7:15 Sunday night, and found the man in a car... then he drove away.

"After a short pursuit, the subject stopped the vehicle on Myra Road. He was armed, and got out of the vehicle, and refused commands from the officers," Braman said.

Three officers fired their service weapons because of the perceived threat.

Braman says paramedics treated the man at the scene but he died from his injuries.

All three officers involved in the confrontation have been placed on administrative leave while the Tri-Cities Metro Special Investigations Unit reviews the case.
