17-Year-Old Boy Dead After Kennewick Shooting

(Kennewick, WA) -- Kennewick Police are investigating after a 17-year-old boy was shot dead in West Kennewick Thursday afternoon. Authorities say this happened around 5:15pm off 2100 Rhode Island Court. That's near Arrowhead off Steptoe. Officers were called to the scene for an assault with a weapon. Witnesses told authorities they saw multiple males running from the scene. When officers arrived, they found the victim and rushed him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. A K-9 unit was called in an attempt to locate those involved but the attempt was not successful. Kennewick authorities say this incident appears to be isolated and don't believe the public is in any danger
