Vehicle Vs. Fire Hydrant Snarls Eastbound Clearwater Ave in Kennewick

(Kennewick, WA) -- Kennewick Police say a driver of vehicle misjudged a turn and slammed into a fire hydrant off the 7400 Block of West Clearwater Ave. Saturday afternoon. Authorities say they sent gallons of water gushing into the street, and forced authorities to close off the eastbound lanes for hours while Kennewick Fire Department responded to cap the hydrant and clean up the mess. No one was hurt, and all eastbound traffic on Clearwater was moved over to the median lane while crews got things under control.
