A 21-year-old faces multiple charges after Pasco police say he was caught Friday morning at a convenience store with a stolen SUV.

Officers say they contacted Calani Balos around 1:38 a.m. when he was seen driving a stolen Subaru Forester SUV into the Metro Mart at 10th and Lewis. Officers say another man, Shavontae Sanderfer was arrested for misdemeanors including trespass, hindering, and resisting arrest when he ran from officers after being ordered to stop when they arrived to help investigate this case at the Metro Mart.

Police say they determined the SUV's original owner left it unlocked and did not know another spare key was left inside the SUV by the previous owner.

Later on, police found another stolen car outside where Balos lives and he now could face charges for Possession of Stolen Vehicle.

Anyone with info about who has been driving this SUV since Monday, or where it has been, is urged to call Pasco Police at (509)545-3421 about case PP17-41072 Veh Theft.
