Authorities arrested the suspect driver after the incident reported at about 4:30 am Tuesday.

Troopers say 58-year-old Jeffrey Spiekerman was trying to pass multiple vehicles when he lost control and his vehicle left the roadway and crashed.

The crash was reported at about 2:30 pm when 23-year-old Travis Taft of Yakima was driving westbound on Highway 12 trying to pass another vehicle

Troopers have been busy with deadly crashes over the last two years. They say in 2021 670 fatal crashes were reported.

Washington State Patrol Troopers say 22-year-old Homero Lemus is behind bars after being arrested on Monday.

Authorities are now searching for the driver and a passenger in the vehicle in which Ramos was a passenger.

Yakima Police say they continue emphasis patrols to try and keep more people from being injured or killed in a crash.
