Richland Police find person living with dead body during welfare check
RICHLAND, Wash.-- Richland Police officers responding to a request for a welfare check made a gruesome discover Thursday afternoon.
At about 1:30 p.m. Richland Police and Benton County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a home in the 1400 block of Mahan with a civil order service.
Once they were able to gain entry into the home, they found a deceased individual that "may have been there for some time."
Another individual who was at the residence was taken to a local hospital for mental health treatment.
The Richland Police Department is leading the death investigation, and detectives say there is no danger to the public.
