Deputies on the roads will be out in two new vehicles but neither are stereotypical cruisers.

Undersheriff Dan McCary with the Franklin County Sheriff department says they added the pickup trucks to replace the older ones in the fleet.

"There is not a lot in the area, there are a few, but like I stated earlier, in the rural settings there are at times more need to have a patrol vehicles that we can use depending on the situation out at the county," says McCary.

Deputies say some examples of when the truck will be used is to haul the patrol boat, ATV's and to go off-road if needed.
