Moses Lake’s police department has a new person in charge.

Kevin Fuhr is taking over the Chief of Police spot after the former Chief Dave Ruffin retired in April.

Fuhr is currently the Chief of Police for Rathdrum, Idaho. He has over 26 years of law enforcement experience including over 13 years with Adams County Sheriff’s Office where he served in several positions including Under Sheriff.

The city manager said in a statement, “I am looking forward to getting him on board and building upon the solid foundation that has been established by former Chief Ruffin and the outstanding men and women in the department.”

Kevin will start with the City on July 1st and will be formally sworn during the Moses Lake City Council meeting on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 7 p.m.
