KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Business and non-profit organizations in Benton and Franklin Counties are running out of time to apply for local CARES Act funds.

In July, Benton County Commissioners approved spending $3.5 million dollars to provide grants to local organizations that have suffered financial hardship due to COVID-19 restrictions and health requirements.

The deadline to apply for the CARES Act Community Support Grant Program is Friday, September 25th at 11:59 p.m. for Benton County.

The Franklin County Board of Commissioners approved $3 million dollars in Community Support Grant funding., with the deadline to apply for those funds coming up on Friday, October 2nd at 11:59 p.m.

Funds can be used for most COVID-related expenses like PPE, rent and mortgage, utility bills,, and more.

Both grants are managed by the Tri-City Development Council, or TRIDEC.
