The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for small streams in Northeastern Umatilla, 
Southeastern Walla Walla, and Central Columbia Counties until 9:30pm Friday. A flood warning 
means flooding is actively occurring or imminent. 

At 2:15am, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated flooding across the region, due to rain 
showers and rapid snowmelt.An automated gauge on Mill Creekshowed near record high water levels.

Forecasters have identified Walla Walla, Dayton, Meacham, Milton-Freewater, Waitsburg, Athena, Weston, 
Dixie, Thorn Hollow, Huntsville, Tollgate, Cayuse, Bingham Springs, Delaney, Turner, Umatilla Reservation, 
Gibbon, and Kooskooskie as areas that could experience flooding.

Emergency personal remind drivers not to drive through flooded areas. They say most flood deaths 
occur in vehicles.

River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe with the added water pressure and rushing rivers 
and streams.

If you spot any flooding, notifying law enforcement as soon as possible.
