First COVID-19 death recorded in Yakima Co.

YAKIMA, Wash.- The Yakima County Health District has announced its first fatality from the COVID-19 Virus, an elderly resident of a long-term care facility.

The number of positive cases of the virus rose to 39. Only four cases were known Saturday, but that grew by 20 on Sunday.

Spokesperson Lilian Bravo said during a Facebook Live event Monday evening that, in fact, two facility in Yakima County have reported Coronavirus cases, Good Samaritan and a facility in Parkside.
