KENNEWICK, Wash.--Crews raced to the scene of a brush fire Monday afternoon, right along I-82 at the Finley exit. The blaze broke out around 1:20pm and several crews immediately began to battle the thick smoke and flames that arose from the scene. Washington State Patrol blocked the exit from Westbound 82 to Locust Grove Road, as the fire was contained to much of the left shoulder and grassy area separating the exit ramp from the freeway. No one was hurt and crews began to mop up the fire in as little as 20 minutes after arriving on scene.

Crews from Kennewick and Benton County Fire District One responded to the incident. It's not clear on the cause, but officials say thanks to the winds, conditions are ripe for these kinds of fires.

Our own Greg Neft was live on the scene.
