The Latino Civic Alliance is awaiting a response on the request to have the U.S. Attorney General probe the Pasco police shooting of Antonio Zambrano-Montes.

Congressman Dan Newhouse says he supports their request.

"If that is what they want to do, I would hope the U.S. Attorney General would give it the due consideration that is necessary," says Newhouse.

The Alliance said it disagrees with a decision not to file charges against the three police officers involved in the shooting death of Zambrano-Montes. Leaders sent a letter to the U.S. Attorney General at the end of June.

During that time, County Coroner Dan Blasdel also said he will move forward with the Coroner’s inquest despite the decision not to file charges.
