“Bathroom Initiative” will not be on ballot

The Washington Secretary of State office says backers of I-1515, also called the "bathroom initiative," have canceled the Friday turn-in appointment.

The office posted on its twitter page the group did not get enough signatures. An initiative requires at the minimum 246,372 signatures.

If passed, the initiative would have repealed the state rule allowing transgender people to use the bathroom of the gender they identify with.
