IRRIGON, Ore.-- An Irrigon woman faces charges for allegedly setting a house on fire over the weekend.

Morrow County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a house fire on Crooked Road in Irrigon at about 9:10 p.m. Saturday October 10, 2020.


Deputy Dalton Garcia and Reserve Deputy Steve Larsen spoke to a person who lives in the home who had left the house and returned about fifteen minutes later to find the home on fire.


A female was seen walking away from the burning residence.


Deputies arrested Diane Rochelle Berecz, 47, Irrigon, for suspicion of Arson I, two counts of Assault of a Police Officer, and Resisting Arrest. She is being held in the Umatilla County Jail with a bail of $275,000.


Irrigon Fire, Irrigon Ambulance, Boardman Fire, and Umatilla Fire all responded to the fire.
