A man is in serious condition after being shot multiple times in what Walla Walla County Sheriff deputies believe is gang-related.

Deputies say on Tuesday night around 7:00 p.m. they were called out to a shooting near the Paddock Elevators  near Paddock and Harvey Shaw Rd. The man said he had been shot, but because of his condition, didn't give very many details.

Deputies found the 20-year-old alone and began administering first aid utilizing their issued trauma kits. He was flown to St. Mary’s Medical Center and then to Harborview Medical Center.

Deputies say they will not be releasing anymore information at this time.

They say the Paddock Elevator has been a concern shared by the Sheriff who recently requested the Board of County Commissioners fund a two detective unit to focus on criminal gang and drug activity in Walla Walla County. He says they currently don't have a specialized unit devoted to gang activity.
