The Washington State Supreme Court is expected to release a ruling on the Arlene's Flowers case Thursday.

Oral arguments were heard by the state Supreme Court in mid-November in the case involving the owner of a Richland florist shop refusing to do business with a gay couple for their wedding.

The ruling will come after a Benton County Superior Court judge decided in 2015 that Arlene's flowers violated the state’s anti-discrimination and consumer protection laws.

At the Supreme Court hearing, Robert Ingersoll and Curt Freed's attorney Michael Scott argued that Arlene's owner Baronelle Stutzman discriminated against a protected class. However, Kristen Kellie Waggoner, who represents Stutzman, says her clients first amendment right to the freedom of religion is being imposed upon.
