Umatilla Chimp Attack

Umatilla County Sheriffs deputies, assisted by Pendleton PD and Pendleton FD, responded to Reith Rd to a report of a chimpanzee out of its cage that had attacked its owner's daughter who was trapped in the basement bedroom and needed immediate medical assistance.

A UCSO Deputy was forced to put down the chimp at the request of the owner, then provided aid to the victim...both the owner and the daughter were taken to St. Anthony's Hospital for treatment...the daughter suffered several bites to her torso, arms, and legs.
