TRI-CITIES, Wash. - The COVID-19 situation in Benton and Franklin County continues to be a precarious one.

According to the State Health Department's data dashboard, Benton County has a two-week case rate of 220 and Franklin County 293. Both would fail the requirement of less than 200 cases per 100,000 people over a two week period.

When it comes to hospitalization rates, Franklin County sits well above the threshold of 5 with an 8.3, while Benton county is just under the mark needed to stay in Phase 3 with 4.4.

This is a current snap-shot and could change before a decision is made by the state to move counties backwards next Monday.

New Coronavirus cases jumped by 740 in Oregon Tuesday, while statewide hospitalizations now stand at 328.

Umatilla County saw an increase of 15 additional cases, while Morrow County did not register a new case.

Two more deaths from the virus, one in Clackamas and the other in Harney County.
