Suspicious Spokane Toddler Death

Spokane Police are investigating the death of a 14-month-old girl. Police say officers responded to the child's home on July 3rd. The girl's parents say she was sleeping on a mattress inside a closet when a dresser fell on top of her. First responders arrived to find the child had died long before 911 was called. Detectives say police also found several injuries and bruises on the girl's body that were in various stages of healing. A second three-year-old child was placed in state custody because of unhealthy conditions in the apartment.
