Red Lion Preseason Tournament to be Held at Toyota Arena

KENNEWICK, WA--The Tri-City Americans annual Red Lion Preseason Tournament has traditionally been held inside the American's home rink at the Toyota Center, but for this year only, it will be next door inside Toyota Arena. That's because the Toyota Center is also hosting the PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour one week prior, and staff will not be able to install ice until well after the event ends. The Center says hosting the Velocity Tour will help offset financial losses from the past two years.

The Red Lion tourney is slated for September 17 – 19, with online ticket sales start Monday, August 23rd through Ticketmaster. After Labor Day, they'll be available on-site at the Toyota Center Box Office or upon entrance to the tournament.

Center staff expect the ice will be ready for hockey by late September, and the Americans anticipate playing their final game of the exhibition season at the Toyota Center on September 25th against the Spokane Chiefs.
