Prosser, Wash.-- Officials with the City of Prosser say there's a slight chance that the Community Center was exposed to Coronavirus when someone from outside of Benton County visited the facility.

The person who may have been exposed is showing no symptoms, but city officials decided to suspend programs at the center for the rest of the week while it does some disinfecting.

City officials tell Newsradio 610 KONA that the person who may have been exposed has no symptoms at this time.

"This is just precautionary, and only because of the patrons who are predominantly at the community center are seniors, so they're most at risk for this," said Community Development Director Steve Zetz. "We're not even certain that there's been any transfer or contamination of our facility. But, because we can't say for certain that there's a zero percent chance, we're just taking the added step of suspending the programs for the week while we clean the facility.

Other organizations who use the center plan to continue with their programs, including Meals on Wheels.

The city expects to resume programs at the Community Center next week.
