One dead in rollover crash on I-82

RICHLAND, Wash.-- A rollover crash on I-82 claimed the life of a Kennewick woman Saturday night.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a Chevrolet Suburban was headed eastbound on I-82, when it veered off the road to the right about two miles before the I-182 interchange just after 9:00 p.m.

Troopers say the driver overcorrected and the vehicle rolled.

The driver, identified as Beverly Whitehead, 32, Kennewick, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was the only one in the SUV at the time of the crash.

Investigators say Whitehead was wearing a seatbelt, and it's not known whether drugs or alcohol might have played a factor in the crash.
