MESA, Wash.-- One man was arrested Tuesday night after a disturbance in Franklin County.

Sgt. Travis Mahler with the Franklin Count Sheriff's Office says deputies were called out to the area of Highway 395 and SR 17 near Mesa, after a man in a pick-up pulled over at a turnout where another car was already stopped.

The 37-year old male got into a confrontation with several people in the car, allegedly hit one person with the door of his pick-up, then tried chasing down at least one person with his vehicle.

Mahler says the suspect then drove around in the gravel, kicking up rocks and breaking a window on the victims' vehicle.

He drove off as deputies responded to the area, leading to a short chase down before he finally pulled over on Blanton Rd.

The Othello man was taken into custody after brief struggle with deputies.

Mahler says the suspect had an active felony warrant, and faces new charges for 2nd degree Assault, 4th degree Assault, Malicious Mischief, Reckless Endangerment, and could face additional charges.

Investigators say the suspect was not known to the victims.
